Creative Music Project, Inc. (CMP) is a non-profit organisation, which looks to promote student-based musical creativity. Our mission is to provide communities with free music training to students and educators based on a balanced music curriculum that focuses on composing and improvising, technology, analyzing and evaluating, and highlighting relationships between music and other disciplines.

CMP will be hosting its third FREE Summer Music Camp for approximately 100 primary school students at Prospect Primary School from July 3-6, 2012, 8:30a.m. to 3:00p.m. daily. There are 10 CMP members flying in to Grand Cayman ready to prepare for the week ahead. Students will participate in various creative activities including playing instruments, singing, movement activities, cultural connections, songwriting, music technology, composing, arranging, improvising and also have the chance to enjoy live performances from some of our members. Our week will come to a close with a concert on Friday, July 6, 2012 at 7:00p.m. where we invite the public to view a showcase of what the students have accomplished during that week.

In order to facilitate this project, we solicited donations from several sources including large donations from our main sponsor HSBC as well as Cayman Airways Ltd., Economy Car Rental, Cayman Shoppers and a host of other private sponsors both locally and internationally. Through this support we have been able to offer the camp, including snack and lunch, free of cost to all students.

CMP would like to thank our sponsors, the Ministry of Education, the Department of Education Services, and everyone involved for their unwavering support and encouragement for this camp. This support will go a long way to having a positive impact on the lives of many of our students.
