| Child slavery U.K. Home Office dashed trafficking survivor’s dreams of Olympic boxing medal After surviving being trafficked as a child into domestic servitude in the United Kingdom, Kelvin Bilal Fawaz went on to become one of the country’s top boxing talents. But his chance at winning an Olympic medal was taken away from him when the Home Office rejected his request for a work visa. | Debt bondage Sajita returns home but the fight for her pay continues Former migrant domestic worker Sajita Lama has finally returned home to Nepal after being trapped in Lebanon by her employer for nine years. During this period, she was forced to work for no pay and given no rest days. She was not allowed to leave – her employers took her travel documents away. Although Sajita is finally able to go home, she is still owed around $22,000 in wages. The Freedom United community is urgently calling for justice – Sajita’s employers must pay her in full.
