Man charged with attempted murder due in court
Police can confirm that a 40-year-old man has been charged and is due in court today in connection with an incident in Windsor Park on 21 June where a man sustained a serious stab wound to his neck.
He has been charged with attempted murder.
The victim remains in hospital in a critical condition.
About 3.30am on Thursday, 21 June 2012, police received a report that a 34-year-old man had been admitted to the Cayman Islands Hospital in George Town suffering from a serious stab wound to his neck.
Enquiries revealed that the victim had sustained the injury while attending a gathering in Hawkins Drive, Windsor Park. The incident is believed to have a occurred around 3.15 am. It is suggested that approximately 50 (fifty) people were at the gathering.
Police are once again appealing for anyone who was at the gathering in Windsor Park in the early hours of Thursday (21) morning to contact them. The officer in charge of the enquiry, Detective Inspector Joseph Wright, is disappointed that despite the number of people who were at the gathering no-one has yet come forward in response to that appeal.
