Meet Leroy Jordan, 2012 Cayman Stingray Tourism Accommodations Employee of the Year
Leroy always goes above and beyond to ensure that guests are made to feel welcome. He is entrusted with many high profile guests due to his passion and pride in what he does. One of his favourite things to do is go to the airport and wish his guests a fond farewell. The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman has many repeat guests who return because of the service Leroy provides. This exceptional service is never just part of his job; instead, taking care of guests is his passion in life.
Outside of work, Leory is committed to his community, with a special interest in the youth of the island. He is involved in the Sir John Cumber School reading-buddy program me and is part of the Hotel Community Footprints programme. In addition he has led several school tours imparting his passion and love for the tourism industry on to the youth about to embark on a career path when leaving school.
Annually, Leroy personally “walks the island” in a day. He begins his journey at 6a.m. from Georgetown through Frank Sound stopping at various points of interest on his way to Rum Point. He claims that this day, although long (it takes 9+ hours to complete), ensures that he not only knows what the Island has to offer but he discovers something new every time he does this adventure. This is Leroy’s personal gift to Grand Cayman because this allows him to learn more about his Island home and share these adventures with guests. When in doubt, call Leroy and he will tell you where to buy it, where to enjoy it and where to relax!
As noted on a Trip Advisor review: “Leroy is not just a concierge, he is a friend.” Congratulations, Leroy! You are a true asset to the Cayman Islands tourism industry!
