Cabinet Post Meeting Summary

Her Excellency the Governor Mrs. Jane Owen, chaired the meeting of the Cabinet held on Tuesday, 11th July, 2023 in the Cabinet Conference Room, Government Administration Building.

Mrs Gloria McField-Nixon acted as Deputy Governor. All other Ministers and Members of Cabinet were present.

At this meeting Cabinet:

• Approved the publication of the consultation draft of the updated National Energy Policy 2023- 2050 on the dedicated energy policy website and initiating a 30 day public consultation process;
• Approved the issuance of a coastal works permit for the construction of a private residential dock with cabana offshore Block 24C Parcel 63;
• Approved the issuance of drafting instructions to amend the National Pensions Act;
• Approved the issuance of drafting instructions to amend the Labour (Tribunal Members’ Remuneration) Regulations, 2006;
• Approved the appointment for Dwight Merren as a Member to the Labour Tribunal;
• Approved the appointment for Ryan Charles as Deputy Chair to the Labour Appeals Tribunal;
• Approved the following appointments and re-appointment to the Refugee Protection Appeals Tribunal: Nova Hall, Chair; John Harris, Deputy Chair; Nisha Bismillah, Member; and Sheena Bush, Secretary (Non-Voting); and
• Reviewed and noted the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture and Heritage’s Annual Report for the period ending 31st December 2022 and authorised its presentation to Parliament.
