Cayman: Celebrating the next generation of leaders in our community

Seven Dart Scholars completed their undergraduate and graduate studies this summer, achieving an impressive collection of degrees across a range of STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) disciplines.

“It takes years of hard work and commitment to reach this level of academic excellence,” said Glenda McTaggart, senior manager education programmes at Dart. “Our goal is to help create Cayman’s next generation of business and community leaders and Joshua, Marcos, Jade, Christian, Anja, Stephane and Charlotte give me confidence that we are doing just that.”

With degrees in dentistry, biomedical engineering, economics, pathobiology, mathematics and statistics, biochemistry and mechanical and electrical engineering – these young Caymanian scholars have earned a doctorate, four master’s and two undergraduate degrees between them:

Dr Martin has started his dental foundations training with the NHS (National Health Services) in London, England, Anja hopes to start her PhD in biochemistry in Uppsala, Sweden later this year, Jade is working at KPMG here in Grand Cayman before moving to work in their Chicago office later this year and Stephanie is working with the stoney coral tissue loss disease team at the Department of Environment.

The remainder of the graduates are taking some well-deserved time off before embarking on the next stages of their academic and professional journeys.
