Cayman: Ogier strong showing in new Legal 500 Caribbean guide

Ogier’s Cayman Islands multi-discipline practice “allows a client to get one-shop treatment in multiple jurisdictions if required”, according to the latest Legal 500 Caribbean rankings, with the firm ranked in eight practice areas and more than 25 lawyers individually recognised.
Within Ogier’s Cayman Dispute Resolution team Marc Kish was described by client feedback as a “precise and devastating litigator”, while fellow leading individual Rachael Reynolds KC’s reputation “extends far beyond the shores of the Islands“. Christopher Levers and Jennifer Fox were listed as next generation partners, while Gemma Lardner and Deborah Barker Roye were given key lawyer status.
TheInvestment Funds team saw five lawyers named as leading individuals – James Bergstrom, Nick Rogers, Giorgio Subiotto, Joanne Huckle and Justin Savage. Emma Sutherland and Tim Cone were named as next generation partners and Barry McEwan and Gemma Cowan are named as key lawyers.
Joanne Huckle was also named a leading individual for Regulatory and Compliance, joined in the rankings by key lawyers Martin Byers, Sophie Warburton, Megan Mcluskie and Cornelia Zhu.
Ogier’s Cayman Trusts and Private Client practice was said to “benefit from the integrated international approach of Ogier’s global organisation of its practice“. “Impressive duo” Rachael Reynolds KC and Anthony Partridge, were named as leading individuals. Rising star Deborah Barker Roye “impresses in the private client sphere“, as does key lawyer Jennifer Fox. Christopher Levers was also named as a key lawyer, as was Gregory Haddow, who was described alongside Anthony Partridge as a “leading light of the of the non-contentious private client team“.
In its Cayman Banking, Finance and Capital Markets practice, Ogier’s team was described as “always willing and able to meet tight deadlines“. James Heinicke and Angus Davison were listed as leading individuals, while Mark Santangeli was named as a next generation partner and Bradley Kruger and Cynthia Anandajayasekeram were named as key lawyers.
The Corporate and Commercial practice saw Bradley Kruger named as a leading individual. Cynthia Anandajayasekeram, Angus Davison, James Heinicke and Giorgio Subiotto were named as key lawyers, with Cynthia also named a next generation partner.
Sophie Warburton was also named as a key lawyer along with Cline Gidden in the Real Estate team, with Cline also recognised as a rising star. Intellectual Property expert Sophie Peat was praised in her practice area in a cross-Caribbean capacity, named as a next generation partner who is “extremely knowledgeable about the various Caribbean countries“.
Ogier was also ranked as a top tier leading firm in the Caribbean for foreign-based expertise.
