Cayman: Water-related death

Shortly before 2:10PM on Friday, 22 December, officers responded to a report of a water-related death. It was reported that a man had been out snorkeling from a vessel in the North Sound when he experienced difficulties and became unresponsive. The man was brought back to the vessel where persons aboard conducted CPR as he was transported back to shore in the vicinity of Safehaven. Emergency services met the vessel on shore and the man was taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital via ambulance, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
The man, age 71, is a visitor to the Cayman Islands.
