Community light a candle for Karen
Tomorrow a Candlelight Vigil will be held in memory of the late Karen Edwards and her unborn child.
Ms. Edwards was tragically taken in a car crash on Sea View Road in East End just after 7pm on Sunday August 14th.
Karen, 24, was the mother of a 1-year-old girl, a 3-year-old boy and just a week away from giving birth to a third child.
The driver of the vehicle remains in Miami receiving treatment. Police arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI and death by dangerous driving and will formally interview the person in question when they are well enough to speak.
Another passenger is still receiving treatment on island and will hopefully be released next week from the Cayman Islands Hospital.
And a fourth passenger did receive medical attention but was released early last week.
The vigil will be held in the parking lot at the Agape Family Worship Centre tomorrow at 7pm.
The funeral will be held at the Agape Worship Centre on Saturday August 27th at 11am.
The viewing of the body will also be at the Agape Centre starting at 10am.
Attendees are asked to wear pink in Karen’s memory, as it was her favourite colour. There will be no photography will be allowed at the service.
T-Shirts have also been made available for purchase in Ms. Edwards memory.
Ms. Shirene Robb, her sister, said, “Shirts will be on sale at the candlelight vigil at a cost of $10.00, all proceeds will be in aid of the children. We would like to inform all persons attending these ceremonies that there will be photography allowed.”
Any donations will be collected solely by Amanda Moore or Shirene Robb.
To place an order for shirts, please contact Ms. Patricia Webster on 939-2480 or Ms. Shirene Robb at 938-7822.
