IOC and Kinomap to offer fans connected sports challenges on Paris 2024 courses

IOC

12 December 2023 – As the countdown to the Olympic Games Paris 2024 continues, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has collaborated with interactive indoor training app Kinomap to offer runners, cyclists and rowers around the world the chance to tackle the Olympic courses remotely ahead of next year’s Games.

Users will be able to pair their compatible home fitness equipment – including exercise bikes, home treadmills and rowing machines – with the Kinomap app, which will then display a video recording of the exact routes that will be used by the athletes during Paris 2024. The resistance level and incline of the equipment will also be automatically adjusted to match the route on the screen, giving users an unrivalled training experience as close to the real Olympic courses as possible.

From the comfort of their own homes, cyclists, runners and rowers will then be able to join connected challenges to see how their performances on the Paris 2024 courses compare to other fans around the world.

Kinomap CEO Philippe Moity expressed his excitement about this unique collaboration with the IOC.

“We are delighted to bring connected challenges in relation to the world’s biggest sporting event and to share this common ambition: to make sport accessible to everyone, and to promote physical activity, health and well-being on a global scale,” he said.

The Kinomap platform is available in 15 languages, and has 370,000 miles of geolocated routes and more than 40,000 training videos in over 195 countries, helping to connect people with the most scenic and popular routes around the world for a truly innovative exercise experience.

Kinomap becomes the latest Official Licensee of the IOC, which has developed a global licensing programme to strengthen and promote the Olympic brand, not only during the Olympic Games, but between editions of the Games as well.
