Cayman: DEH Operations on King’s Birthday June 17 202r
Grand Cayman, June 13, 2024 – The Department of Environmental Health (DEH) is advising the public of the early closure of the George Town Landfill operation on Monday, June 17, 2024, in observance of the public holiday to celebrate King Charles III’s Birthday.
The George Town Landfill will close at 1:00 pm, and no reception of derelict vehicles or scrap metals through the gate on this day. However, regular garbage collection and recycling operations will be as normal on this public holiday. Regular operations at the George Town Landfill will resume on Tuesday, June 18, 2024.
Members of the public are also encouraged to use the 24-hour drop-off site at the entrance of the landfill which will remain open to facilitate the disposal of small amounts of waste from residential customers, if necessary.
There will be no changes in the schedule for Sister Islands and collections as normal.
