Cayman: Minister Bryan to Attend Caribbean Week in New York City

Hon Kenneth Bryan

Hon. Kenneth Bryan and senior officials from the Ministry of Tourism and Ports (MOTP) will travel to the Big Apple to attend ‘Caribbean Week’ presented by the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) in New York City from June 16th to 21st, 2024.

Caribbean Week is the flagship event of the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO), which this year will be held under the theme ‘Connecting the Globe, Celebrating Diversity.’ The programme includes a series of panel discussions and business meetings, and features a dynamic lineup of speakers from public and private sector entities across the region. This year, senior executives from corporations such as Microsoft, CNBC, American Airlines, Royal Caribbean Group and Sandals, Jamaica will contribute to the strategic dialogue and workshops focused on shaping the Caribbean tourism landscape.

During the week-long event, Minister Bryan will Chair the Council of Ministers meeting, attended by Ministers and Commissioners of Tourism from the Organisation’s 25-member territories. He will also lead a Ministerial Forum on ’Leveraging Artificial Intelligence’ which will explore AI’s impact on the tourism sector. Attendees will gain insights into how AI can be used to promote and streamline tourism offerings and encourage regional growth and development.

Minister Bryan will also be prominently representing the Cayman Islands’ interests and gaining insights to utilise in the strategic development of the country’s tourism products. At the Caribbean Media Awards, sponsored by the Cayman Islands, he will present awards to journalists and influencers whose work has significantly contributed to the promotion of Caribbean tourism. This year marks the reintroduction of the awards and is highly anticipated.

“Caribbean Week provides an excellent platform for us to connect, collaborate, and celebrate our diverse tourism offerings,” said Minister Bryan. “By sharing best practices and innovative strategies, we can collectively drive forward the growth and development of tourism across the Caribbean region. This event is not just about promoting individual destinations but about strengthening our regional unity to enhance our global competitiveness. I am excited to represent the Cayman Islands and work alongside my esteemed regional colleagues to identify new opportunities, address common challenges and ensure that our tourism sector continues to thrive and provide a more sustainable, resilient and prosperous future for all Caribbean nations.”
