Bulletin – Friday, 21 June, 10:00 a.m. Cayman Weather Update
Grand Cayman, 21 June 2024 – The Cayman Islands National Weather Service (CINWS) advises that cloudiness and showers will continue for the Cayman Islands through today (Friday, 21 June), due to a tropical wave passing through the northwest Caribbean region.
Rainfall estimates suggest 0.5 to 1 inch over the next 24 hours, primarily over Grand Cayman. Higher than normal tides are causing saltwater intrusion in some areas and increasing the risk of flooding in other low-lying areas across the Islands. Conditions are expected to improve with a gradual decrease in cloudiness and showers from Saturday morning.
A small craft advisory remains in effect through Saturday evening as winds decrease. Seas are expected to settle with decreasing wind speeds starting from Sunday, 23 June.
