New Junior Achievement Board forges ahead

Junior Achievement announced the election of its new Board for its 2012/13 year, and is set to go forward from strength to strength over the next 12 months.

At the Board’s first meeting of the year, Mr. Paul Byles was re-elected as President and expressed his gratitude to fellow Board members and the various corporate sponsors who made the past year a success.

“Last year, Junior Achievement of the Cayman Islands celebrated its 20th anniversary and it was one of our most successful ever;  with the highest participation in every one of our programmes”, said Mr. Byles.

“The Board is especially grateful to the many sponsors and volunteers who made last year such a success”, he added.

Mr. Byles explained that JA of the Cayman Islands has an objective to improve even more on student participation levels in the coming year.

“In addition to looking at ways to improve on our existing programmes and achieving even higher levels of student participation, I am hopeful that we will be able to secure additional corporate sponsorship including our corporate ambassadors program for the period 2012 through 2014.  We are going to be very active in our search and hopefully that we can achieve some further success in this area over the coming months”, he added.

Mr. Byles wanted to especially welcome a few new members to the board, including Mr. Giorgio  Subiotto of Ogiers, Mr. Chris Saunders of HSBC and Ms. Jennie Pachaco a JA Alumni who will spearhead JA’s Alumni initiative.
