Cayman: NRA Approves Combined Phases 3 and 4 of George Town Revitalisation Initiative (GTRI)

NRA Approves Combined Phases 3 and 4 of George Town Revitalisation Initiative (GTRI)
George Town, Grand Cayman – September 18th, 2024

The National Roads Authority (NRA) has granted approval to merge Phases 3 and 4 of the George Town Revitalisation Initiative (GTRI), with work scheduled to commence in the third week of September and continue through the first week of December 2024.

This phase will focus on significant infrastructure enhancements, including the installation of external light posts. To accommodate the construction, a traffic diversion will be implemented from Edward Street to Main Street. Commuters are advised to plan their routes accordingly and anticipate possible delays during this period.

Important Notice: Pedestrians using the George Town Post Office are advised to proceed with care when accessing their boxes, as construction fencing will be put up inside the walkway.

The GTRI is committed to improving the infrastructure and aesthetic appeal of George Town, ensuring it remains a vibrant and accessible hub for residents and visitors alike. The merging of these phases is expected to streamline the project timeline, minimizing disruptions and enhancing the overall efficiency of the Revitalisation process.

Traffic Advisory: The public is urged to stay informed about the traffic diversions and follow the recommended routes to ensure safety and ease of travel. Regular updates will be provided through the GTRI’s social media channels.
