Gun Deaths in the US

We’re passionate about saving lives. Unfortunately, firearm-related conversations rarely focus on the most at-risk demographics. Our latest publication explores the age, race, and location of people who are most likely to perish from gunshot wounds.

Here are some of the highlights from our article:

  • Urban areas have the highest rate of homicides at 7.5/100k people on average, despite suburban areas having similar population sizes.
  • Firearm-related deaths are more prevalent in 20 to 24-year-olds than any other age group.
  • Black Americans between 14 and 34 comprise only 4% of the population and 20% of the entire nation’s homicide victims.
