CABINET OF THE CAYMAN ISLANDS – POST MEETING SUMMARY

A meeting of the Cabinet was convened on Tuesday, 10th September, 2024 in the Cabinet Conference
Room, Government Administration Building.

Hon Franz Manderson, acted as Governor, Mrs Gloria McField-Nixon acted for the Hon Deputy Governor,
Ms Reshma Sharma, acted for the Hon Attorney General, Hon Dwayne Seymour acted for the Hon Deputy Premier and Mr. Bernie Bush, Parliamentary Secretary, acted for the Hon Minister for Financial Services, Commerce, Investment, Innovation and Social Development. All other Ministers and Members of Cabinet were present.


At this meeting Cabinet:
a. Approved in accordance with section 3(3) of the University College Act (2012 Revision) for the
appointment of Dr. A. Steve McField as a member of the Board of Governors of the University
College of the Cayman Islands;
b. Approved the renewal of the Licence in relation to Block 14CJ Parcel 19(part) to the Central
Scranton Community Committee;
c. Approved the purchase of Block 25B Parcel 243 for the purposes of conservation;
d. Approved the purchase of Block 88A Parcel 3 for the purposes of conservation;
e. Approved the conditional exemption of 4 non-Caymanians pursuant to section 53(1)(b) of the
Immigration (Transition) Act (2022 Revision);
f. Noted the annual review of the Immigration (Transition) (Monetary Authority Work Permit
Exemption) Regulations, 2023 and approved for it to continue to be in effect;
g. Approved an application in accordance with Regulation 27(a) of the Legal Practitioners (Student)
Regulations (2018 Revision) to enrol in the postgraduate Professional Practice Course at the
Truman Bodden Law School;
h. Approved the appointment of the following persons as Notaries Public in accordance with the
Notaries Public Act (2023 Revision): Greg Arnold, Cedric Gidarisingh, Oliver Tonge, Chelsie
Watler and Tanya Ziemniak;
i..Approved the appointment of Jordan Crooks as a Sports Ambassador for the Cayman Islands; and
j. Noted information regarding the Caribbean Development Bank’s First Regional Transforming
Education Symposium and Policy Dialogue.
