Blue Ocean Reinsurance Group, a leading provider of Insurance Management and Reinsurance services, is pleased to announce the addition of three key professionals to its expanding team. Nico Kleine Punte, joins the leadership group to oversee the group’s accounting operations, Derek Shanahan who joins as Senior Vice President and Account Executive, and Nancy Manyange, appointed as Reinsurance Accountant. These strategic appointments are an integral part of the firm’s ongoing strategy for staffing in key growth areas.

Nico Kleine Punte brings over a decade of experience navigating the complexities of the Caribbean insurance and reinsurance market. Having held senior positions at PwC, Island Heritage, and BF&M Group, he has a comprehensive understanding of financial and regulatory reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions, including Bermuda, the Cayman Islands, Bahamas, and Eastern Caribbean territories. Nico will lead the accounting function of the firm, ensuring the highest standards of financial reporting and compliance.

Derek Shanahan who will be focusing on our Re/Insurance Management portfolio, joins the team and leadership group with over 15 years of experience in Insurance and Risk Management. Previously holding senior roles at Aon and ENI, Derek will focus on supporting growth and the implementation of strategic initiatives and operations, and managing key client relationships, reinforcing Blue Ocean Reinsurance Group’s  client-centric approach.

Nancy Manyange, an accomplished accountant with a background in financial services, actuarial and industrial markets, will support the reinsurance accounting and compliance function. Her experience in regulatory filings, financial reporting, and actuarial risk analysis will be instrumental in further supporting an enhanced client service model in addition to enhancing the group’s operational efficiency.
