Cayman: Police Investigate Report of Bomb Threat at Grand Harbour Plaza

At approximately 10:24AM on Tuesday, 8 January, police and emergency services, including the Cayman Islands Fire Service, Emergency Medical Services and an explosives expert were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to investigate a report of a bomb threat at Grand Harbour Plaza.

Due to the potential threat to public safety, the plaza, including retail stores, commercial premises, a school and surrounding parking area, was evacuated to allow emergency responders to assess the situation and implement contingency measures.

Following a thorough search of the premises, by police and the explosives expert, the area was deemed safe, and normal business operations resumed.

The police are actively investigating the nature of the threat. Anyone with information is urged to contact theGeorge Town Police Station at 949-4222.
