Once the nominees are submitted, they go through an interview process which ultimately determines the selected finalists.

Digicel takes pride in supporting community initiatives and the YCEA awards provided the perfect opportunity to display support of youth initiatives in Cayman Islands.  The efforts of these individuals have been incredibly inspirational.  They also give Cayman community a sense of pride in knowing that the youths are focused on making a change and a difference.

“The finalists represent various qualities such as dedication, commitment, discipline and ambition. The finalists have already made remarkable steps towards their future goals and aspirations.  These include, a Junior Achievement Award Recipient, Two individuals who have been admitted to top universities, an aspiring Miss Teen Cayman participant who is currently working with local charities and an individual who has created his own Bible study groups and provides transportation for persons in need.  These are examples of our youth focusing on the important aspects of life and by extension our community, giving their peers a fine example and role model to look up to.  We were honoured to be a part of this” said Crystal Gomez, Sponsorship and Promotions Executive at Digicel Cayman.  “On behalf of Digicel we would like to congratulate all of the finalist on their achievements and especially congratulate Lloyd Barker on becoming the 2012 YCEA recipient.”
