West Bay District Office received a facelift recently with a fresh paint job.

Students from the Young Nation Builders Programme (YNBP) took on the job as a part of their community service requirement before returning to college.

YNBP scholarship recipients are required to give back to the

Community either through organized efforts or on their own. The community service requirement is intended to inculcate a sense of citizenship and pride in contributing to one’s community. Compared to other local scholarships, this requirement is unique to the YNBP scholarship.  Students are also encouraged to join organizations such as Rotaract.

There are 87 YNBP scholarship recipients returning to school this term with a further 54 students joining their scholarly ranks for the first time. Upon completion of their schooling they are bonded to return to the Cayman Islands to work and continue contributing to the nation building effort through community service.
