IMS move owing to expansion
“We looked at various opportunities for relocating, but when a previous tenant moved out of the Harbour Centre in June, it freed up the 3rd Floor which gave us the opportunity to lease the whole floor while retaining our prestigious address in George Town” said Gary Butler, managing director of IMS. “We have refurbished the space to accommodate existing staff members, new staff that have recently joined us, and to give us room for future hires that are on the horizon.”
IMS has increased the headcount in its fund fiduciary team during the year, by hiring three seasoned fund professionals to act as directors and fiduciaries to its fund clients, Mike McDonald, Mark Cook and Tim Woolaver. “The hires within the fund fiduciary team follow an increase in business we believe resulted from the clear value placed on the quality of service and depth of expertise our fund fiduciary team provide, as well as our total independence from investment managers, law firms and other service providers to our clients, all of which enable us to provide the level of corporate governance investors expect and which we can bring to the fund entities and clients we are proud to serve” remarked Butler.
According to IMS Chairman, Paul Harris; in addition to the new staff, IMS has also stood itself in good stead for future growth by bolstering its management team by the promotion of three of its senior employees. Gary Butler, in-house legal counsel, was promoted to Managing Director during August 2012 to work alongside existing Managing Director, Chris Bowring. Michael O’Connor, financial controller, was promoted to Director of Finance and I.T., and Geoff Ruddick, a senior member within the fund fiduciary team, will be taking on a more centralized role which, will include future client and business development for IMS Fund Services, a division of IMS.
