Premier McKeeva Bush was in London, the first stop of an official trip that takes him to Copenhagen and Greenland for meetings of overseas countries and territories.

On Thursday, 20th September, the Premier and other members of the Cayman delegation made a stop in London on their way to attend the annual European Union Overseas Countries and Territories Association Forum which is being held in Greenland next week.

During the brief stop over the Premier met with Minister Mark Simmonds MP, who has recently been appointed as the new Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. In the course of the brief introductory meeting both the Minister and Premier identified a number of issues and concerns that affect the Cayman Islands’ public finance management, which they would like to see addressed.

 The Premier and the rest of the Cayman delegation departed London on Saturday (22) for Copenhagen where they attended a pre-forum meeting of the Caribbean Overseas Countries and Territories Council, of which the Premier is Vice Chairman, before finally continuing on to Greenland on Monday morning (24).
