GET INTO THE SPIRIT OF HALLOWEEN AT CAMANA BAY

From a haunting Halloween House of Horror hosted by The Rotary Club of Grand Cayman and the Town Centre’s annual Halloween Spooktacular especially for little ones to a series of creepy features shown under the stars and a special Zombie After Party for adults only – you’re in for a scream this Halloween at Camana Bay.

Get into the spirit of the spooky season at The Rotary Club of Grand Cayman’s Halloween House of Horror.

Located next to Bay Market on Market Street, the haunted house will be open to the public from 6:30pm to 11pm on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 October, and on Halloween night. Admission is CI$10 and children ten and under must be accompanied by an adult. All proceeds will benefit charities supported by the Club.

Then on Saturday 27 October, little monsters and their parents are in for a ghoulishly good time as Camana Bay hosts its annual Halloween Spooktacular. Beginning at 4pm, enjoy a host of Halloween-themed games and activities in the safety of Camana Bay’s Town Centre.

To kick off the festivities, BonaFide will lead a costume parade followed by a Monster Mash Bash. After they have worn out their dancing shoes, youngsters can test their bravery in the Monster Lab by sticking their hands into mysterious pots to guess the monster body parts concealed within or visit the Creepy Craft stations to create spooky spiders, paper plate ghosts and decorate mini pumpkins. They can try their luck and win candy at three Carnival Games—Witch Way Toss, Hungry Aliens and Ghost Tree—or add the final touches to their Halloween costume at the face painting stand.

This year there will be two opportunities for families to capture the fun. Parents who bring their own cameras can head to the UNICEF Pumpkin Patch; it’s the perfect place to snap candid shots of the kids while supporting a worthwhile cause.

For a keepsake that can be treasured forever, visit the Mail Boxes Etc. photo booth or snap a picture with your phone or camera and send it to [email protected] for a personalized Halloween photo card. Choose from three bewitching designs and enjoy the convenience of one hour service. Trick or Treat your way through the Town Centre, visiting participating stores and restaurants for an assortment of Halloween treats then head to Gardenia Court for a Spooky Creature Double Feature, starting at 7pm with It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown (1996, G) . In this short animated flick, the PEAUNUTS gang celebrates Halloween, and Linus hopes that, finally, he will be visited by The Great Pumpkin. At 7:30pm, be amused by Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were Rabbit (2005, G) , as Wallace and his loyal dog set out to discover the mystery behind the garden pest threatening to sabotage the village’s annual giant vegetable growing contest.

Witches, wizards, goblins and ghouls taking part in the Zombie Island 5K on Saturday 27 October can celebrate their survival at the Zombie Apocalypse After Party at KARoo. From 4pm – midnight, be thrilled and chilled as DJ Alexi spins scary party tunes and KARoo serves up a concoction of Halloween drink specials.

If that wasn’t enough excitement, teens and adults are in for a final scare as Camana Bay hosts a series of spooky flicks shown under the stars in Gardenia Court from Saturday 27 – Wednesday 31 October:

Saturday 27 October 9pm: Dark Shadows (2012, PG-13) An imprisoned vampire is set free and returns to his ancestral home to find his dysfunctional descendants in need of his protection.

Monday 29 October 8pm: Death Becomes Her (1992, PG-13) When a woman learns of a new immortality treatment, she sees it as a way to outdo her long-time rival.

Tuesday 30 October 8pm: Van Helsing (2004, PG-13) The notorious monster-hunter is sent to Transylvania to stop Count Dracula using Dr. Frankenstein’s research for a sinister purpose.

Wednesday 31 October 8pm: Little Shop of Horrors (1986, PG-13) A nerdish florist finds his chance for success and romance with the help of a giant man-eating plant.
