Subject: CAYMANIANS NEED A WORKERS UNION AND WE NEED IT NOW!
[Local media house – name withheld] Stop the scaremongering, which only promotes more work permit sales as though this is helping our people. It is NOT!
You haven’t explained why it is Caymanians losing the jobs instead of expats. If there’s no work then its the work permit holders who should leave the island. Not the Caymanians go back home with no work.
Is it that [local building company name withheld] habitually hires cheap labor too and Caymanians are the first to go? Is their skeleton crew Foreigner? If so, Labor, Work Permit Board and Immigration better look into this as this is unfair, and if government is allowing ******** to keep Work permit holders on staff while Caymanians are sent home, then this is violation of their human rights. If so then there is grounds for a law suit against government for keeping work permit holders employed with ******** while Caymanians are laid off. This is grounds for a law suit if thee assumptions are proven to be true. Let the Companies go if they can’t hire Caymanians you are not getting anything anyway!
Government is inducing time exercise where Cayman will be forced to send people home to make room for jobs for our people. There is something seriously wrong with the job calculations in this country.
Since there are more jobs than people then we should have 0% unemployment amongst Caymanians!
Such is not the case, therefore there is definitely a conspiracy to keep Caymanians unemployed and continue selling work permits.
Dr. Frank its time you get that Union going. Caymanians need the bill of rights and a Union to fight for our cause and ensure collective bargaining at the table.
Bring on the Union, the crooked system we have is begging for a workers union. Even when some of us try to support what the government appears to be doing to help the people, they slap us in our faces with passing laws to benefit expats and further screw up the lives of Caymanians keeping them jobless with work permit holders.
So we have no choice but to turn our backs on the UDP who have shown us their backs for the past 4 years. The false pretense of passing laws that should protect jobs for Caymanians is nothing but a diversion from what they are really doing to us, and they have no intention of enforcing the labor law or regulating business who do not hire Caymanians.
The last four years of the lives of the people of Cayman has been nothing but misery, shame, poverty, sorrow, embarrassment, disenfranchise, helplessness and devastation. This government has had 4 years to find work for our people. Instead they have spent 4 years printing hundreds of thousands of work permits totaling over 25,000 to 30,000. This is an outright disgrace and gross failure!
THAT’S NOT PROGRESS
