I hope the persons behind the new political group, that isn’t a party but a consortium of independent candidates set to run in Cayman Islands 2013, do not listen to the majority of the blogs running on Cayman’s media websites.

I hope they do not run a campaign like the good intentioned One Man One Vote Referendum Committee did earlier this year.

I hope they do not get lost in the euphoria that surrounded the inaugural meeting of Coalition4Cayman (C4C) last Monday (19) at AL Thompson’s car park.

I hope they are, as they are pronouncing, truly independent.

I hope the secrecy surrounding the persons behind the group is announced soon.

I hope their idea of, “selecting the right leaders to be independent leaders,” is the same as the majority of the persons in the Cayman Islands.

I hope they find independent leaders with the “vision”.

I hope they announce who their selection committee for endorsement is quickly and not left to the last minute.

A lot of hopes.

There was a lot of good will at the inaugural meeting.

There was excitement.

There was curiosity.

There was worry.

There were people there worried at the direction their country is going.

There were people wanting an alternative to the utter mess both political parties have made of their country.

There were people there who most definitely want persons running their country who put their county first.

There were people there frustrated.

There were people there with HOPE.

Hope that this really is a solution.

I hope it is.

As Scottish singer and songwriter says in her religious song “Hope”

“Plant a little piece of hope and watch it grow

Plant it tenderly with love and let it show

That as the miracle before your eyes unfolds

You’ll see the field of hope turn to a field of gold”

And the whole of the Cayman Islands answers “AMEN”!!
