The following News Release was received from the Office of the Press Secretary to the Premier regarding the Director of the Overseas Territories visit to the Cayman Islands.

“The new Director for the Overseas Territories is visiting the Cayman Islands for the first time since taking up his post last month. Peter Hayes, who has an extensive career in the Diplomatic Service, will meet with various Government officials while in the Cayman Islands.

“Premier McKeeva Bush said he regretted that his commitments in London leading up to the annual meeting of the Joint Ministerial Council did not permit him to be here for Mr. Hayes’ initial visit as the new Director for the Overseas Territories. “I nevertheless wish him a successful visit and I look forward to meeting him at the JMC in London,” the Premier said.”
