Cayman 27’s Parade of Lights this Saturday (1)

This Saturday, December 1st, gather the family together for Cayman 27’s Parade of Lights. The celebration begins at The Crescent, Camana Bay from 6pm and will be broadcast live on Cayman 27.

The colourful boat parade is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season. Cayman 27’s Parade of Lights organisers have planned a family-oriented evening to spread Christmas cheer starting with performances by The First Baptist Church Sanctuary Choir, and Suite Elite.

The boat parade follows with participants competing for CI$2,000 cash. Entrants compete in either “private” or “watersports” categories and are judged based on creativity, wow factor, use of colour, and overall impression. Sunset Divers is sure to be a contender in the watersports category as the returning title holder. Last year’s winner for private boat was Paul Storey and the “Peanuts” gang.

Santa will make an appearance and the evening is capped off with WestStar TV’s spectacular fireworks display – arguably the best fireworks show of the year!  Cayman 27’s Monique Hather says, “We are extremely grateful to our major sponsors who make this possible. Chrissie Tomlinson Memorial Hospital and Fidelity continue to support this great event, and new this year are Hurley’s and Diamond’s International. We also have WestStar to thank for the fireworks, and Camana Bay for providing the perfect venue.”
