Cayman Islands Amateur Swimming has announced that it has established new, all inclusive CIASA swimming records.
“With the assistance of CIASA director Adrien Royston, we are delighted to release the first set of CIASA swimming records,” said President Peter Mackay. “This is something which our new technical director Ian Armiger has been instrumental in introducing and these records will now make it easier for us to produce a comprehensive listing of rankings and of national records as well,” he concluded.
To hold a CIASA record, the swimmer must be a CIASA registered member and/or competes under a CIASA recognised club, or participates is CIASA designated meet (must meet FINA Officiating Standards) or in overseas licensed meets.

Kavanagh Lambert raced to 8th spot in the 11/12yrs 200m breaststroke at the Youth Cup in Toronto.
After a solid 400m IM of 5:52.89 on Day 1, Kav swam to a 2:59.82 Top 8 finish in the 200m breaststroke…only 1.4 seconds off the podium!

Isabella Tognazzo, Lauren Hew, Zororo Mutomba and Matthew Somerville struck medals on Day 2 of the Mega City Meet in Toronto.
Isabella, swimming with confidence from her podium places on Day 1, raced to victory in the 14yrs 200m backstroke with 2:38.61 but it was her 1:05.70 silver medal in the 100m freestyle which gave her most satisfaction as this was a new CARIFTA Qualifying Time.
Lauren Hew narrowly missed the 100m backstroke CARIFTA time with a superb lifetime best of 1:12.62 but then rallied in the 100m 13yrs 100m freestyle to take bronze in 1:06.09.
Zororo Mutomba powered her way to the 10yrs& under 100m freestyle title (1:13.81) and placed 4th in the 100m breaststroke with 1:44.27
Matthew Somerville took bronze in the 11/12yrs 50m backstroke (37.37) with teammate Ed Weber finishing 7th in 39.30.
Ben Somerville and Dylan Lewis placedd 4th & 5th respectively in the 10yrs& under 50m backstroke; Ben in 43.15 and Lewis in 43.60

Isabella Tognazzo swam to a tremendous lifetime best of 3:03.57 to take the 14yrs 200m breaststroke title in the opening session of the Mega City Meet in Toronto.
Isabella went on to finish 4th in the 14yrs 200m individual medley with another lifetime best of 2:42.59, teammate Lauren Hew finishing 6th in the 13yrs age group with 2:42.13: both swimmers are now within striking distance of the CARIFTA Qualifying standard of 2:39.29.

The swimmers will be competing in the South West Regional Short Course Championships which take place at Millfield School on 1st/2nd December.
