Another successful Rotary Central Music Extravaganza

Big congratulations go out to Director Larry and the entire Music Extravaganza team for pulling off yet another wildly successful event on Sat 1stDecember says Fiona Mosley. She also gave thanks to all Rotarians who sold tickets for the raffle and especially to those who spent a long, hot day making last minute ticket sales and/or, if they were so lucky, spending a few hours quarantined in the counting room.Early indications were that the ticket sales were once again very good this year. Rotary Central will announce the financial details at a later date, once all the costs are in and accounted.

The raffle results last night were as follows:

1st prize ($40,000) – ticket #1513, purchased by Assis (no last name given). Seller was Rembley Reid.

2nd prize ($4,000) – ticket #7746, purchased by Joanne West. Seller was Jessica Woods.

6 x $1,000 prizes:

1 – ticket #1245, purchased by Jerry Delaney. Seller was Debra Ebanks.

2 – ticket #8345, purchased by Mary Grant. Seller was Tina Grant.

3 – ticket #0556, purchased by Claudette Warren. Seller was Isobel (no last name given).

4 – ticket #6110, purchased by Dwayne McDonald. Seller was R. Rodney.

5 – ticket #1817, purchased by Rebecca Palmer. Seller was Rot. Paul Arbo (yes, me J)

6 – ticket #7722, purchased by Tina Harris. Seller was not indicated.

Consolation prizes:

Samsung Galaxy S3 phone (donated by Cash Wiz) – ticket #0645, D.E. McDonald. Seller was Donny McDonald.

Ultimate swim (donated by Dolphin Cove, Rot. Kent Eldemire) – ticket #6079, Oniel Smith. Seller was Rot. Zelta Gayle.

Ultimate swim (donated by Dolphin Cove, Rot. Kent Eldemire) – ticket #9382, C.R. Dunsford. Seller was Rembley Reid.

The Extravaganza was held for the 17th time and the venue was the Brickhouse Restaurant in Grand Harbour.

The bands that took part were Sea n B, Little Magic and Gone Country.

Dr. Naude Dreyer of Rotary Central said, “In Grand Cayman, the Music Extravaganza is a main pillar in supporting fundraising. The main objective of Rotary is service – in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Rotary also supports programs for youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development. The Rotary motto is Service Above Self.”
