Security guard claims self defence to stabbing
His victim was a 49 year old man whom Bradbery stabbed at his home on Friday 19th October because he thought the man was an intruder. He was using a knife to cut cabbage when the man entered his house and he then defended himself with it.
Bradbery inflicted a 2.5in. stab wound to the chest to his victim who had told the court he was lured into Bradbery’s home.
The victim told the court he received a phone call from a woman whom he believed to be his friend asking for medicines. When he arrived at the George Town residence Bradbery stabbed him in the chest.
The Crown said it was a deliberate act as Bradbery believed the victim was having an affair with his wife.
The victim, who was hospitalised after the incident, was in a critical condition, received emergency surgery and was on a ventilator for some time afterwards. The Crown said he is now in a stable condition.
Bradbery was remanded to HMP Northward because he could not raise the necessary bonds required for his conditions of bail that had included an electronic tag.
Bradbery’s trial is set for August 2013.
