In light of the recent implementation of the Bill of Rights, Freedoms, and Responsibilities, the Commission urges the country to remain dedicated to the cause of promoting, protecting, and preserving human rights. We urge all persons to peacefully and democratically assist in the campaign of raising awareness for human rights, observing human rights principles, and working to hold the Government and public officials accountable for infringements of human rights. For this to be successful, we encourage everyone to learn more about your human rights and the responsibilities that come with fully exercising those rights.
The Human Rights Commission also encourages everyone to participate in this year’s global observance and to reflect on the meaning, importance, and need for human rights in the Cayman Islands. In our efforts to promote, protect, and preserve human rights in the Cayman Islands, the HRC urges the public to recognise and honour the significant contributions of those persons who have defended human rights in their daily lives for the benefit of all of us.
