PPM host Family Fun Day in North Side
For the last 10 years, members of the PPM have invited families from various districts to North Side to enjoy food and fellowship during the Family Fun Day.
“Our Family Fun Day is an occasion for the PPM family and supporters to get together and enjoy Christmas cheer,” explained PPM Leader, Hon. Alden McLaughlin. “With so much happening in our country at the moment, it was so good to see people enjoying themselves as a family. We were grateful to have so many come out to enjoy one another.”
Note: The PPM is a social democratic political party in the Cayman Islands headed by Alden McLaughlin.
The PPM was founded in 2002.
On 11th May 2005 the PPM took 10 of the 15 seats in the Legislative Assembly and formed the government until the 20th May 2009.
On February 12, 2011, the People’s Progressive Movement became the first political party in the Cayman Islands to transfer leadership. Kurt Tibbetts, the Leader of the Opposition and founder of the PPM, stepped down at the extraordinary conference, passing on the party’s top job to Alden McLaughlin.
On 28th November, 2012, Moses Kirkconnell was declared the first official deputy leader of the PPM.
