The Editor Speaks: The smell of scum is back
Determined to make our beautiful islands a place to harass, steal, terrify and maim innocent citizens, trash have crawled out of their garbage cans and delivered us a sickening start to 2013.
Three armed robberies a year is shocking, three a month is outrageous, three a week is horrifying, three in one night is repugnant bordering on insanity and disbelief.
Where do these scum lie? Where are they hatched? What den of stench do they live in?
Their smell of rotting vegetables (and believe me vegetables are at the lowest number in my diet) must permeate the Cayman Islands pleasant odours and give away the lairs of these low lives. NOTIFY THE POLICE!
Grand Cayman, the largest of our three islands and the nest for these vermin, is tiny compared to almost anywhere else in the world. It should be easy to sniff out their stench and lock them away from society. Preferably, to a place where they can be educated to become useful members of our society. Please, not to a place where they are locked away to become more hardened in their ways; to be an even bigger smelly, nasty, blot upon the landscape and thereby the rest of us.
The damage they do costs this country, and therefore us, far more than the construction of a cruise ship facility, a larger airport, or a waste disposal facility. Armed robberies here are reported to the rest of the world and we all know how journalists like to embellish things. I am NOT a journalist so I am exempt!
If tourists are persuaded not to come here, because of these armed attacks on shops, customers, tourists and persons just walking the streets; if persons can be knifed in the throat for $9; shot in the face and beaten up after being forced to hand over valuables, there will be no need to build any of these new projects.
On second thought the waste disposal facility may have to be built, though, to harbour these increasing scum!
Cutting the police budget may not have been a very wise decision. The country’s rubbish are out and about. We had better lookout.
If there is a horrible smell in your area call the police. You have found them.
