There really is no excuse not to come out and watch and enjoy some great tennis, food and libations. It will be the most competitive tournament that the Cayman Islands has ever witnessed! PERIOD
The number one seed in the tournament is Dennis Zivkovic from the United States. Dennis is currently ranked 303 ATP, he has been as high as 295 in the world and has a current doubles ranking of 198 in the world. The number two seed is Phillip Bester from Canada. Phillip has been ranked as high as 229 in the world back in 2011. Unfortunately, injuries have given him a current ranking of 567 in the world, but he is now fighting back. Stefanno Ianni, returning from last year’s tournament is currently ranked 121 in the world in doubles and he has been as high as 300 ATP in singles, will be the tournament’s number third seed. Another returning player this year is the number fourth seed, McCoy Malcolm. This will be MCoy’s fourth year participating in the PwC Men’s Invitational; last year he made it to the finals and lost to Haydn Lewis of Barbados.
Can you believe it! We actually have 8 more players that are in the below draw. Marcus Malcolm, from Jamaica, making his fourth appearance in the tournament, Eduardo Torres coming down from Canada to see if he can regain the title, and Mica Koll and Nikhil Jha, two Caymanians, that will make their second appearance in the PwC Men’s Invite. All trying to get the top prize of $2,500 US Dollars! Adam Bayley, the Cayman Islands Tennis Club’s local pro will be in the draw as well as another local, Alex Leonard who also participated last year.
