Princess Margaret sewage system concerns MP
Dr. Fenton Ferguson, Jamaica’s Opposition Spokesman on Health, has asserted that the Princess Margaret Hospital’s non-functioning sewage system poses a serious health risk and needs to be addressed immediately.
Ferguson, who is also the Member of Parliament for eastern St. Thomas, noted that the hospital’s sewage system is discharging effluent on the compound and emitting a noxious stench.
Meanwhile, Ferguson has renewed calls for Health Minister Rudyard Spencer to address other concerns at the Princess Margaret Hospital.
According to the opposition spokesman, Spencer promised more than a year ago to address the problems, but the Health Minister is yet to follow through.
The Eastern St. Thomas MP lamented that the hospital’s fence remains unfixed, and the outdated x-ray machine needs to be replaced.
