Born out of the sentiment that many strong independent films will have a short life span due to little hype surrounding their screenings, The Hidden Film Festival has created an exciting cinematic experience to remedy this.
The festival will take place at screens in Toronto, Dublin, Paris and London in July 2013.

Any film over 55 minutes in length.

Any student film with a running time under 55 minutes.

Any music video under 15 minutes in length.

A documentary (including factual, non-factual & mockumentary) of any length.

A screenplay that has not been produced prior to submission.

It’s a hidden gem. Your movie. A secret the world is going to go crazy about!
Our aim is to create a buzz around your film, with great reviews and word of mouth spreading from a single exclusive event.
We aim to be the number one social media and online buzz creator for new movies, before they roll out at other festivals and are released.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
You made your film to be enjoyed by film lovers and supported by film fans. Your first screening of it will be for an unassuming audience. No word will have leaked about it. The lights will dim, the eager audience will see your titles light up the screen and BOOM your first screening will be twittered, facebooked and reviewed within minutes of the eager audience coming out.
Studios are able to wine and dine the press and create buzz with expensive marketing campaigns. With the Hidden Film Festivals, we do all of that for you. Everyone will be clamouring to find out where your film is playing next or who will be distributing it and when, once the buzz comes out from these festivals!
The Hidden Film Festival – Worldwide will be showing in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France and Canada. You can even let us know which countries you would prefer to potentially screen your film in!

The Hidden Film Festival – Worldwide
Rules for Participation
1. Dates and Venue
The Hidden Film Festival – Worldwide will take place in July 2013. The absolute final submission deadline is as dictated on withoutabox.com. The category winners (see 8.) will be announced after the Festival. The venues for each category will be announced closer to the Festival.
2. Competition
The Festival reserves the right to decide which locations (all/some/none) a film will screen at on the Hidden Film Festival – Worldwide tour. Details such as general release in certain countries or premieres in certain places will be taken into account when making these decisions. The Festival reserves the right to place entries into alternative categories if they feel it is to the benefit of the title. Each submission must be entered separately. Entries will be assessed and successful submissions will be programmed for screening and enter the Festival competition. Failure to submit an exhibition copy four weeks prior to the festival will rule out eligibility for an award. If your films is selected we reserve the right to show your film at a time and date of our choosing.
3. Formats
For the selection process acceptable formats: DVD & Blu-Ray.
For Screenplay submissions acceptable formats are: .PDF on DVD/ CD, hard copy bound scripts.
For successful submissions that are granted a screening: DVD, DCP or 35mm prints.

4. Selection
The Festival is organized by the Film Festival Guild. The festival directors reserve the right to invite films for the competition and programme. Screening schedule will be announced after the final submission deadline. The final award winning entries will be selected by a festival jury and audience votes. Award winners will be notified within 14 days of the festival screenings.
5. Entry Returns
We do not return entries.
6. Screenings
It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that films for screening are deposited with the festival organisers at least 21 days before any scheduled screening.
7. Publicity
We reserve the right to use extracts from submissions for festival publicity and marketing purposes. Press kits are not required, but are useful, so please feel free to send these with your submissions.

Eligibilty for Student Awards – The producers of the film and/ or director must have been a student when the film was produced.
Awards may be subject to change at the discretion of the Film Festival Guild.
9. Submission, Selection for Screening, Awards and VOTING
There are 3 distinct stages. Submission, screening and awards. The administrators’ decision is final.
