CIFA with CONCACAF Gold Cup Interactive release
CONCACAF Interactive Gold Cup 2013 (CIGC13)
CONCACAF is unveiling the confederation’s newest initiative – the CONCACAF Interactive Gold Cup 2013 (CIGC13).
Under the umbrella of CONCACAF Interactive in association with EA SPORTS™ FIFA13, CONCACAF has developed the region’s first interactive football tournament. This CONCACAF property is designed to increase the awareness of our premier national team competition in the ever growing digital gaming space, with a strong focus on social media and robust digital platform co-promotions. The initiative was launched on 4
March 2013.
The CIGC13 will allow fans from around the world that have legal ties to our 40 Member Associations to play EA Sports’ FIFA13 video game online for the honor of representing their respective countries in the virtual tournament finals, qualifying in the same fashion as teams do for the actual Gold Cup.
The twelve skilled players to reach the CIGC13 finals will be flown to the United States to compete against each other on-site. The two finalists will then have the opportunity to play for the title of CIGC Virtual Champion in front of tens of thousands of people on the stadium video screen between games at the 2013 Gold Cup Semifinal doubleheader. The CIGC13 Champion will receive an all-expenses paid trip for two (2) to the 2013
CONCACAF Gold Cup Final and be presented with a trophy at the Closing Ceremony.
CIGC13 online qualification will take place on the SONY PlayStation3 console, through Season 6 of the FIFA Interactive World Cup 2013 (FIWC13) played on EA SPORTS FIFA 13 (1 March – 1 April 2013) . Interested individuals will have to register on the www.CONCACAFinteractive.com webpage, where they will also be able to track their progress through a rating system provided by EA SPORTS™.
