Cayman Hedge Funds are under the spotlight at OffshoreAlert Conference
How many hedge fund directorships are too many, should the number and name of each person’s directorships be transparent or concealed from investors, and to what extent are they regulated?
Cayman-based Don Seymour is a ‘professional director’, serving on the boards of apparently over 150 funds. Don will discuss his routine, including the number of board meetings he attends every day, the level of his input, what he believes he is required to know about funds of which he is a director, and, generally, what he views as his duties and obligations as a director.
Rounding out the panel will be Cayman-based attorney Matt Mulry, of Dillon Eustace, who has legally advised many hedge funds on compliance, regulatory, governance, and other issues, and, hopefully, a representative of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, which regulates the financial services sector in Cayman, which is home to more hedge funds than any other
