Ogier Cayman’s articled clerks achieve further success

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOgier announced on 7th March 2013 that two alumni of its articled clerk programme, Michael Lockwood and Alison Maxwell, were admitted to the roll of Attorneys at Law of the Cayman Islands on applications moved by Ogier Cayman Partner and Head of Litigation, Richard de Lacy QC.

Mr Lockwood and Ms Maxwell joined Ogier in September 2011 under the firm’s articled clerk programme following their legal studies and completed their articles on February 1st and March 1st respectively. Mr Lockwood has a law degree from Liverpool University and was commended for his performance in the Legal Practice Course in London.  Ms Maxwell read law in England and has a Master’s degree from Queen Mary University of London.

“We congratulate Michael and Alison on their admission to the bar.  The firm is proud to have helped them reach this important milestone in their legal careers,” said Mr de Lacy.  Addressing Mr Justice Quin, Mr de Lacy said that both candidates would be adornments to the Bar in the Cayman Islands.  Mr Lockwood has been Captain of the National Swim Team and is Vice- President of the Cayman Islands Swimming Association.  He has secured a position as an Associate with Ogier.  Ms Maxwell has been prominent in the activities of the Cayman Islands Association of Mediators and Arbitrators.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOgier Cayman also announced today that Anna Cummings is the newest candidate to join its articled clerk programme.  She joins Ms Ridhiima Kapoor who began her 18-month term in September 2012.
