Coalition For Cayman announces latest endorsements
Grand Cayman – April 8, 2013 – Coalition for Cayman (C4C) today announced their endorsement of Independent West Bay candidates Mervin Smith and Tara Rivers for the Legislative Assembly. C4C is a public awareness and advocacy group dedicated to electing independent minded leaders that will be accountable and free of partisan political ties.
Smith is a prominent community advocate and small business owner who co-founded the West Bay Sports Foundation, an organisation that looks to provide opportunities through sports and mentoring programs. He also is a founding member of the Truly For Cayman Initiative, an organisation dedicated to preserving West Bay Road. Smith currently lives in West Bay with his family and is the owner of MJS Plumbing Ltd.
Rivers currently serves as Chair of the United World Colleges (Cayman Islands) National Foundation and previously served with the Ministry of Youth where she helped develop the National Youth Policy for the Cayman Islands. She earned her MBA at the Schulich School of Business and an LLB from the Osgoode Hall Law School. Rivers is the mother to a young son and is employed at Conyers Dill & Pearman (Cayman) Limited.
