Adoption special offer

Erica_again_1The Cayman Islands Humane Society Needs You!

The Cayman Islands Humane Society celebrates forty years of caring for homeless pets this year. We continue to operate out of our humble shelter at 153 North Sound Road. We do our best to find homes for the cats and dogs who end up at our door step, many of which have lost the comfort of a loving family and home. We continue to look for positive alternatives to help find a well-deserved home for our worthy residents through adoption, fostering and transfers to shelters such as Pets Alive in New York and friends of the Humane Society in the United States.

Every now and again, we find ourselves filled to the brim and we now need your help with spreading the word to adopt a dog or cat from the shelter. If there was ever a time for you to make up your mind to adopt a pet, this is the time.

Flash_2We are now offering a reduction in our adoption fees by 50%. Our adoption fees help to off-set our costs for spay and neuter but with this special promotion we will forego our fees to help our furry friends. The Humane Society would like to assist you with rescuing a homeless pet as well as help you make a budget conscious decision by providing you with an Adoption Package as follows:

Spay or neuter

Vaccines for one (1) year

Dog Licence

20% discount on a six or twelve month supply of Heartguard from Island Veterinary Services

10% discount on pet supplies for your beloved pet from Animal House

A free ‘Wellness’  test from Cayman Animal Hospital

5 days of day care at Must Love Dogs

Free training session from Julie Leslie at Love Your Dog

An open invitation to join our Sunday morning beach training classes with Kenneth Morgan

Shelter pets are heartworm free and blossom in a loving home.  If you find two wonderful dogs or cats and you can’t make up your mind on which one to adopt, we can help by giving you the option of adoption both pets for the one adoption fee including all the perks.

You can encourage your family and friends who are looking for a pet to visit the shelter today and make a friend for life. We are asking anyone who is considering surrendering their pet to please reconsider or at the very least wait and for those who find stray dogs or cats to hang on to them and act as foster parents, even if only temporary.

When you adopt a pet from a shelter, you are saving the life of a dog or cat and these animals are released as healthy, vaccinated, and spayed or neutered pets, all very important to rescuing and raising a healthy, happy, and loving pet and reducing the over-population of homeless pets in the Cayman Islands….

And an extra special plea, we need to find these dogs a caring home this weekend……

Are you an experienced dog handler and foster with time to work with Erica or Flash?  Both have struggled to settle in the shelter, they would not suit a home with other dogs or a young family at this time.  If you think you can help, call and see them now…. more about them below

“Hi, my name is Erika. I was rescued at twelve weeks of age. I am now 8 months old and am almost fully grown, I am a medium size Cayman dog and will not grow much bigger. I am a big fan of meeting new friends, snacking on tasty snacks and getting lots of attention. I would blossom in a home where I am the only furry friend of the family. I walk well on a lead and I am house-trained.”

“I’m Flash and a very special dog- a Cayman Spaniel! I am really looking for my own home but foster care would work too because it is very busy in the Shelter right now. I am almost 2 years old and a big guy so I will need regular exercise and if you are a jogger, I could be your running buddy. I would flourish in a household with an experienced adopter. I am a fast learner and I promise to give you my undivided attention. I walk well on a lead and I am house-trained.”
