RCIPS report 2 incidents: Hit and run accident and robbery
Serious MVA hit and run along West Bay Road

A male was struck by a vehicle in the vicinity of the Strand Shopping Centre, West Bay Road. Male was crossing the main road when he was hit by a motor car travelling south along WB Road. The vehicle fled the scene.
The male who was struck received injuries to his head and was conveyed to the George Town Hospital.
A portion of West Bay Road in the vicinity was closed to facilitate the investigation but re-opened at 0623.
Sometime later the driver of a vehicle identified as the one involved in the incident was located at his residence and arrested on Suspicion of Leaving the Scene of an MVA and DUI of Alcohol. He remains in custody pending investigations
STATUS OF VICTIM:
Victim admitted to the GTH. Doctors do not believe the injury is life threatening at this time.

Robbery in George Town

About 0325hrs police attended an apartment on Keturah Street in George Town relative to the report of robbery. On arrival Officers met and spoke with the victim who detailed that he was robbed of his jewelry at gunpoint by a lone gunman. The robber then ran away from the location heading to the entrance of Executive Suites.
The victim searched for the gunman with help from a member of the public without success, then telephoned 911 and reported the incident.
No shots were fired and no one was injured.
The robbery suspect is described as about 6 feet in height, dark brown complexion and skinny. The male was wearing a dark gray T-shirt and a saggy blue jeans. He has a black t-shirt covering his entire head excluding his eyes.
