Montego Bay, Jamaica, W.I.  Mackie Conscious, also known as Dennis McKay, prolific singer, songwriter and musician, is now being managed by PanaCarib PR & Management Team, headed by Sharon Parris-Chambers and Theo Chambers. The team has international expertise in marketing, public relations and management.

A professional musician and entertainer, Mackie Conscious began his recording career in 1987. He has been inspired by the great Robert Nestor (Bob) Marley (the ‘King of Reggae’).  Conscious attributes his rapid growth and the prominence of his songwriting skills since 1997 to the spiritual inspiration and vision of Bob Marley, which has significantly influenced his writing of songs on education, freedom and consciousness with messages of spiritual edification.

Mackie Conscious has since unleashed his talent and intensified his mission to create conscious music to uplift Jamaicans and help bring social change and awareness to their lives. A philosopher in his own rights, he provides the social commentary necessary to help keep the people’s voice alive, creating songs like “What if?”, “JPS”, “Leave the Crumbs Alone” and “The World is in Trouble” to name a few. In this regard, Mackie Conscious follows in the footsteps of the Great Mighty Sparrow and Lord Kitchener, whose voices were a constant reminder that the people were aware of what was going on on the local, regional and world stage. He has become the de facto harbinger of the people – the ‘people’s voice’.

During his career Mackie Conscious has amassed hits such as “What If?” a song highly regarded as the song that brought him to prominence.
