Caribbean opportunities presented at China Trade Fair
With the growing Chinese investment in the Caribbean region coupled with RLB’s work on several projects in the Caribbean and South America including that of Project Monitor for the Import Export Bank of China on the US$3.5b Baha Mar resort in Nassau, RLB were invited by the China Business Network to participate in the second annual China Beijing International Fair for Trade In services (“CIFTIS”) held in Beijing China from 28th May 2013 to 1st June
CIFTIS is jointly hosted by The Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality with supporting institutions being The World Trade Organisation, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development countries. Defined as a state-level, international and comprehensive fair for trade in services, CIFTIS is a comprehensive trading platform in the world covering the 12 sectors of trade in services defined by the WTO.CIFTIS was scheduled to attract some 1.800 exhibitors, 24,000 registered merchants from 83 countries and regions around the world and over 100,000 visitors.
Martyn made two presentations on RLB’s services and project opportunities in the Caribbean, one to the International Energy Efficiency Conference focusing on the opportunities for green technology presented by six different projects in the Caribbean region, and the second to the Second Seminar on ‘Go Global Strategy in China’s International Economic Cooperation
CIFTIS provided an excellent opportunity to introduce RLB’s Caribbean services to a widening group of investors, contractors and bankers, as well as meeting many of the Caribbean Ambassadors based in China.
Martyn was delighted with the networking opportunities and RLB’s expanding group of friends within China with strong interests in the Caribbean area.
