After a hotly contested qualifying round featuring thousands of participants from across the Confederation, the final twelve have made it through from the on-line tournament completed in March. The twelve remaining competitors will now be divided into three groups of four, from which the eight top regional gamers will advance to a round of quarterfinals and semifinals, in a format designed to be identical to that of the Gold Cup. The grand final between the top two interactive athletes will be played out in front of tens of thousands of fans on the larger-than-life jumbotron screen at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas, between Gold Cup semifinal games on Wednesday, June 24.
