JULY EVENTS AT CAMANA BAY

Constitution Day Fireworks

Celebrate Cayman’s Constitution Day – and American 4th July – at Camana Bay with a fantastic fireworks display that will set The Harbour skyline aglow. Relax with a glass of champagne on the grass while the kids play in the interactive fountains or dine alfresco on one of the Town Centre’s waterfront terraces and enjoy a spectacular view of the show. Please note: the canal connecting The Harbour to the North Sound will be closed to the public for 15 minutes prior to and after the display.

Art at The Bay: Visual Arts Society Art Show

Extended due to popular demand! More than 30 years ago, a small group of artists got together to paint and share ideas in a small building in South Sound. Today, the Visual Arts Society (VAS) and its members, including professional artists, hobbyists and members of the community who simply have a passion for art, is a pioneering non-profit organisation for the appreciation, enhancement and learning of art in the Cayman Islands. Join the organisation for a special exhibition to celebrate all things art and browse work from more than 20 up-and-coming artists, including pottery, batiks, woodwork, mosaics, crafts and more, all ‘Made in Cayman’ by local artists and artisans.

Summer is here and school is out, which means kids are home for two months of long, empty days. Parents can take advantage of Camana Bay’s summer camp offerings and design a summer of fun, education and experience for kids of all ages and interests:

3rd Annual Camana Bay Multi-Sport Camp

Camana Bay’s sports-centred Multi-Sport Camp provides a healthy outlet for little all-stars to improve their skills while staying active and engaged. Campers aged 6-14 will explore a wide variety of sports in a recreational, non-competitive environment under the supervision of some of Cayman’s top sports coaches. The camp is geared towards beginner to intermediate levels and focuses on developing kids’ sports skills and techniques. Daily activities include, but are not limited to, basketball, volleyball, tennis, swimming, football, ultimate Frisbee and street hockey. Cost is CI$125 per week. To register, contact

Camana Bay Sea & Discover Camp

Held in partnership with Sea Elements, Camana Bay’s Sea & Discover Camp gives campers aged 8-12 a chance to “dive in” to Cayman’s marine environment and discover the wonders it has to offer through a host of hands-on and educational activities. From daily snorkeling trips, lionfish dissections and Catboat demonstrations to underwater photography, marine biology and a trip to Stingray City, Sea & Discover Camp engages kids while developing a deeper understanding of Cayman’s marine environments and the importance of local conservation. 5th Annual Camana Bay Basketball Camp with the Orlando Magic

Aspiring hoop stars will live out their basketball fantasies at the 5th Annual Camana Bay Orlando Magic Basketball Camp. Budding ball players can practice their jump shots as professional youth coaches from NBA basketball team the Orlando Magic teach young campers aged 7-17 dribbling, shooting and passing skills. In addition to one-of-a-kind professional instruction, full-court games and friendly contests, campers will have the opportunity to train with a special guest player from the Orlando Magic. Now in its fifth year, this popular camp fills up fast! The camp is split into two sessions; the first session takes place from 8:30am- 12pm and is for players 7-12 years-old. From 12:30-4pm, ball players 13-17 years-old will enjoy an afternoon of skill-building, live games and more. Cost is CI$150 for the week and includes a camp T-shirt, giveaways and awards. Cayman Rock & Reggae Music Festival

Join Music Republic for their first concept concert on Camana Bay’s Festival Green! A night of rock and reggae, prepare to be entertained as these two distinct genres blend together to create a musical experience unlike any other. Be wowed by Air Supply, the world-famous British-Australian soft rock duo, and dance the night away to Third World, the Jamaica-based Reggae band known for its unique blend of Reggae, Soul,

Funk and Disco. Air Supply has sold more than 100 million albums and boasts US Top Ten hits such as Lost in Love and All Out of Love. Heavily influenced by The Wailers, Third World will play well-known Reggae classics including Now That We Found Love and Cool Meditation. Also joining the show are up-and-coming artists Brave Yesterday and Chronixx. Regarded by music industry critics as the biggest talent to arrive on the music scene since Bob Marley, Chronixx will entertain audiences with a mix of Roots Reggae and World Music, while Brave Yesterday will have the crowd up and dancing to their fresh sound, influenced by The Killers, Snow Patrol and The Police. Blue Jack Fundraiser

The Cayman Islands United World College Foundation presents a night of “casino” fun at its third annual “Blue Jack” Fundraiser on Saturday 13 July at The Arts & Recreation Centre in Camana Bay. Tickets are CI$50 each and 100% of proceeds will go towards providing scholarships for students to study the International Baccalaureate in one of twelve countries, with the aim of fostering a culture of international peace and understanding. Drum Circle

Professional drummers Randy Cholette, Damion Thaxter and Eden Hurlston of the musical group I Am Percussion Ensemble bring the Town Centre to life with a jam session featuring African, Cuban and Caymanian rhythms. The group was formed to promote brotherhood, unity and cultural development through the integration of music. Members of the public are invited to join in with their own instruments and
