Police arrest 1 from burglary in progress & 2 in AC thefts

At about 2:53 am last night a report of a Burglary in progress at the CABANA (formerly Hammer Heads) was made to 911. Police units responded within minutes, and on arrival three suspects fled. The police gave chase and one suspect was arrested; two made good their escape. Most of the property, including a large quantity of alcohol, as well as gloves and a mask were also recovered at or near the scene.
The matter is under investigation by the George Town Police Station Criminal Investigation Department.

Man & woman arrested for air conditioner thefts

The Royal Cayman Island Police Service reported that on Thursday (4) officers from the George Town Police Station Criminal Investigation Department executed a search warrant at an address in the Windsor Park area of George Town and a 29-year-old male and a 42-year-old female on suspicion of burglary and handling stolen goods.
As a result of this search warrant, four air-conditioning components were recovered, which were suspected of being stolen from the Cayman Contractors building on Shamrock Road.
Both suspects were interviewed and released on bail pending further inquiries.

On the 16th June 2013, 32 air conditioning units were stolen from Cayman Contractors store owned by Mark Hennings. Mr. Hennings said the theft took place between 10pm and 1pm and the value of the goods stolen was between $18,000 and $20,000.
