Moisturising Caribbean HAIR
By Kimoy Leon Sing From Trinidad Express
In the Caribbean it is common to come across different hair types and textures. Despite the variations in hair, it is important to understand the needs of your hair to properly care for it, said Business Unit head, Alstons Marketing Co Ltd, Evangeline Kalloo-Ramdwar, during the launch of two of Pantene’s newest lines, Pantene (Pro-V) Truly Natural and Truly Relaxed, recently.
Aimed at addressing Caribbean women’s most demanding hair needs both lines offered products designed specifically to cleanse and nourish and strengthen the hair.
Giving women with natural or relaxed hair more options when it comes to styling and manageability, the Truly Natural line comprises a clarifying shampoo that deeply cleanses natural hair, leaving it shiny, clean and refreshed without heavy residue.
Their deep conditioner claims to moisturise natural hair for up to 72 hours. Curls get a boost with their defining curls custard that is an oil-enriched formula that defines natural curls and adds shine. The line also carries a light-weight formula that controls frizz while providing brilliant shine.
Celebrating the beauty that can be found in every woman’s hair, Pantene’s Truly Relaxed line aims at providing women with relaxed hair, hair that is deeply moisturised, soft and strong against future damage.
Kalloo-Ramdwar noted that the Pantene five-tiered system only dealt with the following hair types: fine hair, curly, colour-treated, (medium/thick) normal hair and relaxed and natural hair.
While many are familiar with Pantene’s Relaxed and Natural line, this one product line addressed the needs of two significantly different hair types/needs with one single product. Truly Relaxed and Truly Natural were designed to meet the specific needs of relaxed/chemically treated hair and natural untreated hair respectively, said Pantene brand manager, Salome Young.
The brand´s launch was hosted by Procter and Gamble local distributors, Alstons Marketing Co Ltd (AMCO) at Bella on the Avenue. Those in attendance included business customers and partners, hair care professionals, AMCO sales and marketing staff, members of the media, bloggers and specially invited guests.
Guests got a closer look at both lines and heard testimonies by women who used the products and went on further to say how it left their hair looking and feeling. One of the highlights of the launch was the introduction of the Pantene Co-Wash that instantly refreshes and moisturises hair; enhancing its natural shininess.
