HBO announces the seventh and final season of True Blood, taking place summer 2014.
The hit drama series returns for its seventh and final season next summer
Miami, FL – Sept. 3, 2013 – HBO Latin America announced that the finale of the acclaimed original series True Blood will come in 2014. Consisting of ten episodes, the seventh and final season will premiere next summer, with executive producer Brian Buckner returning as showrunner.
Created by Alan Ball (Oscar® and Emmy® winner and creator of the award-winning HBO series “Six Feet Under”), True Blood takes place in a world where vampires and humans co-exist after vampires have come out of the coffin, thanks to the invention of mass-produced synthetic blood that means they no longer need humans as a nutritional source. Based on the novels by Charlaine Harris and mixed with romance, suspense, mystery and humor, the series follows the lives of waitress and part-faerie Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) and vampires Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) and Eric Northman (Alexander Skarsgård).
The sixth season of True Blood, which concluded last month, was executive produced by Alan Ball, Brian Buckner, Gregg Fienberg and Alexander Woo.
